FO: Holy Shit! I canít believe Iím talking to you. Can I kiss your ass for a second and tell you how you changed my life for a minute or two?
Seka: (laughing) Youíre sweet. I appreciate the flattery.
FO: Seriously, thanks for taking a minute Seka. Weíre all big fans of your work and weíre really honored that you would be our first victim for an interview. Now, what the hell is wrong with adult films today and why do they suck compared to the years that you were crowned ďThe Platinum PrincessĒ?
Seka: I just donít think theyíre sexy. Thereís no mystiqueÖThereís no foreplay. Theyíre made for DVDís now. Theyíve lost the qualities that made those years special. Theyíre just not sexy.
FO: What was the major reason for you getting out of the movie business?
Seka: Actually, I didnít get out of the movie business per say, but Iím not doing movies anymore because I like to live. The industry today doesnít have enough testing anymore. There just isnít enough protection for the actors and actressí. The direction of the industry just isnít in sync with my perception of what it could be. These new movies almost seem violent, you know? I mean, they just try to fill every orifice they canÖThey just stick something in there and thatís not my bag.
FO: How were you affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic of the 80ís?
Seka: I think everyone was and is affected by the HIV explosion of the 80ís. It has really changed the world. As an individual, it has only touched me by having to see good friends devastated by the disease. I get tested every month. Itís just another reason why I donít do adult filmsÖI like to live.
FO: Who was the coolest actor or actress in the adult film industry? Seka: Oh my gosh. I really enjoyed my experiences making films. Iíd have to say that my favorites were: John Holmes, Mike Ranger, Paul Thomas, Jamie GillisÖJamie was really the coolest. He had such a great sense of humor. Actress wise, Iíd have to say my all time favorite is Veronica Hart. She has a famous saying "As long as I have a face, Seka has a place to sit." Aunt Peg was great too. She was really funny. Kay Parker was great too. I really liked Candida Royalle. She was the coolest.
FO: Who was the biggest Dick?
Seka: (laughing) Well, which way do you mean it? John Holmes had the biggest penis. I never saw a bigger one than that. I mean, it was huge! I donít know if ever want to see a dick that big again. Seriously though, there are plenty of assholes in the industry, but I donít believe in naming people. Nothing good can come from it. I just donít like that kind of karma. Iím sure they know theyíre assholes.
FO: Was John Holmes a wild junkie, as heís been portrayed? And what were your thoughts when found out that he was making movies after we was diagnosed with HIV?
Seka: You know, John was a complete gentleman to me. He always treated me with respect and I got along with him great. I guess I was one of the few. Whether he was a junkie or not, is not my place. Gosh, I wasnít making movies when he found out about he was positive. Again, thatís why I donít make movies any moreÖI like to live.
FO: Are you as wild off camera as you are on?
Seka: OH YES!!!!!
FO: So, they finally made a movie about you; Desperately Seeking Seka. Do you like the way the movie came out? Any chance weíll see you write your own?
Seka: I liked the way the movie came out. These two Swedish guys actually came to America in search of me and wanted to interview me, so they made a movie it. Thereís some great interview with people in the industry they met with while tracking me down. I think it came out pretty nice. I think you will see me creating my own documentary one of these days. Iím also working on an autobiography as well as a coffee table book. Donít forget I made Careful He May Be Watching, which won some awards.
FO: What are some of your favorite movies (all genres)?
Seka: I love movies. Letís see; Whereís Papa?, Gladiator, Caligula, Street Car Named Desire, Shrek 1 and 2Ö loved both of those movies. As far as Adult films, I love to watch all the movies with Veronica Hart, Candida Royalle, and Jamie Gillis.
FO: What are your top 5 records?
Seka: Thatís tough. Iím really into music. Iíd say that you could randomly pick 5 records from either The Rolling Stones or Aerosmith and I would be happy. Those are my two favorite bands.
FO: Have you ever made it with any famous musicians?
Seka: You know, some things are best left to the imagination.
FO: Did you ever try out for a mainstream movie? I would flip the fuck out if I ever saw you in a horror movie!
Seka: Itís funny you should ask. Iíve been talking with some people about a few different projects in the future I had a small roll in Paul Brickmanís Men Donít Leave in 1989. I had a ball doing The Chiller Theater convention earlier this month. Not only were the fans so good to me, but the guys who worked the show were fans sweet to me also. I want to go to the next one in October I had so much fun.
FO: Do you still get lots of fan mail these days? What do most men want from Seka?
Seka: I sure do. The only difference now, is that its email. Iíd say most men who contact me pretty much all want the same thingÖTHEY WANNA DO ME! (laughing)
FO: What do you say to your fans? How do you deal with people on the street asking autographs or photos?
Seka: Iíve been very lucky to meet so many nice people. I hear the stories about the nutty fans and it makes me sick. I really try to be as accommodating as possible. Nice gets you nice.
FO: What would you be doing now if you hadnít gotten into the film industry?
Seka: Wow, Iíd probably be married and having babies which is a scary thought. I mean, I love my life. I think I would be a completely different person had I not made that first movie.
FO: What do you think about this situation in Iraq?
Seka: It really sucks. We shouldnít have to be there. But we had to do something. Unfortunately, we were forced.
FO: What is the biggest problem facing America now, and how do you think we can resolve it?
Seka: I think the biggest problem facing America now is the same problem facing the entire world; How can we maintain peace? America is now in the grips of fear. The terrorist attacks of 9-11 have made such an impact on America psyche, that we now live in fear. And that is why we are in Iraq. And now a number of humans will die so that many more humans can live in peace.
FO: That was powerful. So, will you marry me? If so, tell me what I need to do to keep you happy. If not, tell me what the future holds for you.
Seka: (laughing) NO! (laughing) Iím not getting married ever again! Iíd say that I am a very happy person. I mean, I love to laugh and really enjoy each day. And thatís important, because if youíre not happy with yourself, youíll never be happy with anyone else. The best way to impress me is to just be nice. You gotta be nice to people. My future is bright. Iíve got some great friends.
